Maybury Teacher Wishes For Technology and Language Learning

WWJ 950AM – Carolyn Lomas of Maybury Elementary School asks that more technology be brought into classrooms. The Southwest Detroit 4th grade teacher also believes more U.S. educators should learn to speak and teach foreign languages.

Excerpt: WWJ Newsradio 950′s Pat Sweeting spoke with Maybury Elementary School teacher Patricia Hallman who’s preparing to retire after 45 years.  Carolyn Lomas of Maybury Elementary School asks that more technology be brought into classrooms. The Southwest Detroit 4th grade teacher also believes more U.S. educators should learn to speak and teach foreign languages.

“Our children in the United States are at a disadvantage if they only speak English because our world is a global community and they need to be armed with that,” Lomas said.
