SOUTHWEST DETROIT BUSINESS ASSOCIATION – The current installation is by local artists Erik Howard and Lisa Luevanos. Both born and raised in Southwest Detroit, the two photographers ! bring a unique perspective into the community through film.

The exhibit will highlight Expressions, the southwest Detroit youth group that Howard co-founded in part to provide safe, creative outlets for at-risk youth. Much of their activities centered around cars, photography and graffiti art.

Cinco de Mayo Parade Route and Festivities Altered For 2010

DETNEWS.com – Officials with the Mexican Patriotic Committee that stages the events said the changes, which include a shorter parade route, are the biggest in more than 20 years of organizing the festivities and follow unrelated violence during last year’s parade.
